The Marathon County Solid Waste Department (encompassing the landfill and Hazardous Waste Facility) are located at 172900 STATE HWY 29 (formerly R18500 State Hwy 29), Ringle, WI, 54471, approximately 12 miles east of Wausau on the north side of HWY 29.

We are 1.5 miles east of the Ringle/Q exit. If coming from the Wausau-Area, DO NOT take the Ringle exit. Continue past Cty Hwy Q, and turn from the left-hand turn lane directly off of HWY 29.

If you are bringing materials to the landfill for disposal, do not wear open toed shoes such as sandals or flip flops.  For your own safety please wear appropriate, sturdy, closed-toed footwear.

STANDARD DISPOSAL FEEs:

For loads 1,200 POUNDS or less:
Vehicle ONLY (Car/SUV/light truck)
$35 / load
Trailer-full ONLY $50 / load
Vehicle + Trailer-full $65 / load

For loads OVER 1,200 POUNDS: (Prorated) $58 / ton

NOTE: RATES INCREASE 1/1/2024

Assistance Fee: $35 / 15 minutes

Cash, checks, credit card, or debit are all accepted for payment. Please note there will be a 3% finance charge for all credit card and debit transactions.
