Pets - deceased or Carcasses

State law requires all loads be covered before transport.

The following options are available for disposing of pet or animal carcass. Please call facilities in advance:

  • The Marathon County Landfill accepts pet remains or animal carcasses for the fee of $10.

  • The Marathon County Humane Society 715-845-2810 takes deceased pets on a case by case basis only. The fee charged depends on the size and weight of the pet.

  • Peaceful Pines 715-693-0202 in Mosinee is another alternative.

  • Many veterinary facilities provide services related to deceased pets.

  • If you are a processor with a large volume of material, you must call at least 24 hours in advance.
