We accept all kinds of appliances for a $10 fee.

Click here to learn more. Have more questions? If so, call 877-270-3989 before leaving for the landfill. You may bring appliances to either Marathon County Solid Waste Department or Yeager's Salvage Yard.

Why should I recycle my appliance?

  • Appliances are banned from disposal in WI's landfills, and must be recycled responsibly.  The list of appliances includes; refrigerators, freezers, stoves, ovens, dishwashers, microwave ovens, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, water heaters, furnaces, or boilers.

  • Refrigerators built before 1993 can use two to three times more energy than newer, high-efficiency models. To find out how much your old refrigerator or freezer may be costing, visit the Refrigerator Retirement Savings Calculator.

Is your appliance in working condition?

  • Gently used appliances may be donated to Habitat for Humanity's Recycled Building Materials Facility. Learn more about how to donate here.
